The Annual Sunflower Appeal

The Annual Sunflower Appeal organised by the Pilgrims Hospices was sponsored for the third year running by the Westerleigh Group with the total funds raised from this initiative exceeding £30.000.00 which is a tremendous result and a great increase on the previous year's totals.

Over 800 people attended the gatherings held at the three Hospices at Ashford Canterbury and Thanet held at the end of July.

Sara Scriven , the Individual Giving Manager said " thank you so much for sponsoring the Sunflower Memories Appeal which helps to ensure That the Pilgrims Hospices can continue to provide its services free of charge to our patients their carer's and families" 

The magnificent sum of £12700.00 was distributed among four Charities at the Charing Crematorium offices at a specially arranged presentation meeting on Wednesday 23rd August. Representatives from the four selected Charities: Cruse Bereavement Care, Rainbows Bereavement Support Group, Sands and Ashford Parkinson’s Group with the Rotary Club of Ashford. Everyone gathered in the Family Room and enjoyed tea, coffee cake and biscuits while each Charity Representative gave a brief outline of how the monies would be used before the official presentation of cheques with each expressing sincere gratitude for the invaluable support that the Donations will make.
